From welders to tailors, illustrating industrial processes or capturing the physicality it takes to sail a boat, splicing wide and close-up shots, I strive to provide the viewer of my photographs and films with an immersive experience.

Since 2005, I've freelanced, shooting private commissions and a range of editorial and commercial projects while specialising in craftsmanship and maritime subjects.

Studying photography at UCA Farnham (UK) developed my documentary style and an affinity with human story, culminating with ‘Jim, Duke, Harry’ [2009, held in the Imperial War Museum, London]. This triptych of large-format portraits is displayed with corresponding books, featuring transcriptions of my video recordings of our portrait sittings; the work offers an insight into three ex-servicemen’s lives and welfare after serving in the British Army.

In 2012, after a few years of purely shooting stills, I revisited using moving image. Self-directing and editing video, I started supplying clients with richer stories according to production scales and budget variations.

Currently (2022–present), Kreft Films is instructed to document a three-year private film commission involving a multitude of world-class craftspeople in one location in The Netherlands. Regularly bringing together a small production team.

I thrive on ‘creating’ in challenging environments and unique projects – give me a call to discuss yours…
