From welders to tailors, illustrating industrial processes or capturing the physicality it takes to sail a boat, I strive to provide the viewer of my photographs and films with an immersive experience.

Since 2005, I've freelanced, shooting private photography and film commissions and a range of editorial and commercial projects while specialising in craftsmanship and maritime subjects.

Studying BA Photography at UCA Farnham (Surrey, UK) developed my understanding of human story and my documentary style, culminating with my final major project, ‘Jim, Duke, Harry’ [2009, Imperial War Museum photography, London]. Corresponding books and audio accompany this triptych of large-format photographic portraits; the work offers insights into three ex-servicemen’s lives after serving in the British Army.

Publications, institutional clients, work in collections:

Classic Boat [UK], Yachting World [UK], Wooden Boat [US], The Times [UK], YACHT Magazin [Germany]. Most recently, the Zayed National Museum, Abu Dhabi [UAE], National Historic Ships [UK], National Geographic [UK], Historic Royal Palaces [UK]. ‘Jim, Duke and Harry’ resides in the Imperial War Museum (Photography Collection), London [UK].
